The Next Level is a group of Canadian theatre geeks who play D&D.

We’re currently playing a 5th Edition game in a brand new world.

Below is a bit more about the group.

Rob Card – Dungeon Master

Stats:
  • Level: Artist 16 / Romantic 4
  • Primary Attributes: Wisdom & Charisma
  • Skills: Writing, Painting, Acting
  • Weapons: Rapier Wit +12 / 1D4-6 (Wis save DC 18 to avoid eye-rolling and groaning)

Rob is a novelist and playwright with many published works (check out rmichaelcard.com). He’s been creating stories and worlds for books or RPGs for over twenty years. As far as theatre goes, he’s been an actor and director for amateur productions at his local theatre for nearly as long. He loves the creative process and seeing his stories come to life, whether that’s on the page, on stage, or in a gaming group.

Rob L. – Producer – Playing: Jacob

Stats:
  • Level: Board Game Owner 21 / Gambler 15 / Director 8
  • Primary Attributes: Intelligence and Charisma
  • Skills: Directing, Gaming, Twitching
  • Weapons: Kittens of Cord Chewing +3
  • Favorite Spell: Level 8 Wall of Games

Rob turned his hobbies of computers and directing into a career of computers (programming) and directing (managing).   Seen previously on Twitch streaming Minecraft, Hearthstone, and Poker, he’s used this project as a fantastic excuse to get a lot more technical bits for his rig.  Primarily a Pathfinder DM, (after growing up on D&D 2.0 and 3.5) this is Rob’s first foray into the rules of D&D 5e.

Jessica C. – Designer – Playing Minnuset “Mint”

Jessica has a retail day job to support her and fund her creative endeavors. She’s designed and read Tarot since 1999, been making wooden magical wands since 2009, been running World of Darkness Vampire: the Masquerade tabletop campaigns since 2015, and has just opened a brick and mortar store in Waterloo for interesting occult and costume supplies www.dublevewands.com

D M. – Playing Leone

Stats:
  • Level: 11 Urban Bohemian

  • Skills: Insight, Investigation, Perception, Survival
  • Abilities: Kindness, Bedroom Eyes

D is out there and not coming back anytime soon. She’s a genderqueer trans woman, a mom, an artist, an actor, an art model, a cuddler. Having done tons of theatre as an actor, director, producer, she founded a local LGBTQ theatre company. She’s been playing D&D for decades and is currently involved in 7+ monthly games (2 of which she DMs). Naturally CG, she has decided to give herself a challenge by playing a LN character. It should be interesting. 😊

Will R. – Playing Talyn

Previous played Gildenposy “Gildy”

Stats:

Carolyn’s primary skills are being organized and reliable, and as a result she ends up doing a little bit of everything to keep initiatives moving, whether at her day job in tech or her volunteer commitments with the local theatre. She works mainly behind-the-scenes at the theatre as a director, stage manager, or producer, but occasionally graces audiences with her performances. This is only her third-ever D&D campaign, so she hopes you will be patient with her questions and clarifications about rules during game-play!
